Are you dog friendly at The White Lion?
Yes we are 100% dog friendly. All well behaved dogs are welcome. Dogs are allowed in the bar, and to dine with you. We have dog treats available at the bar for your best friend to enjoy, whilst you relax.
Do you allow walkers in muddy boots?
We are happy for walkers to come into the pub, if your boots are extremely muddy we would be grateful if you would take them off at the door before making your way inside.
Do you cater for Vegetarians, Gluten-free, Dairy-free?
We are able cater for all dietary requirements. Where it is not clear what you can have on the menu, we can adapt on the day to suit your needs. If you have multiple dietary requirements, please get in touch by telephone before booking.
Do you cater for Vegans?
We need 48 hours’ notice to cater for Vegan diets. This gives the kitchen time to order appropriate substitutes in. We ask Vegans book via telephone.
Are you family friendly?
Yes we are a family friendly pub. We have highchairs, our children’s menu can be viewed with our Dinner and Lunch Menus here.
I would prefer to sit in the Gunroom / Main Restaurant is this possible?
Whilst we always try our best to accommodate these requests, we are unable to guarantee you will be able to dine on specific tables or areas of the restaurant.
Can I reserve a table in the Garden?
We do not take reservations for the outdoor seating. Outdoor seating in the courtyard is allocated on a first come, first served basis for our bookings. The courtyard seating is reserved for our booked diners. If you would like to sit here, we suggest booking and arriving as early as possible. The picnic bench area is open to both drinkers and diners, available on a first come, first served basis.

How do I book a table?
To book a table of up to 6 guests please use our online booking system found here. For groups larger than 6 please ring us on 01798 813141.
Will you require a deposit for my booking?
For groups of 6 or more we will need to take a deposit of £10 per person to secure your booking. The deposit will be removed from your final bill on each member of your group arriving. We are happy to refund the full deposit on group size changes made up to 48 hours before your booking. For groups of 7 or more we will require a pre-order. Can I bring a birthday cake?
Yes you can bring a birthday cake, but your party will have to order desserts. If no dessert is ordered then you will be charged a small fee per person to serve the cake in the restaurant.
Are there any good walking routes around the pub?
Yes, we are surrounded by footpaths & bridleways. We are happy for customers to use our Carpark whilst they enjoy the surrounding countryside & end their walk with refreshments at the pub.
